Study of the demographics of radiologists in French-speaking Switzerland

This demographic analysis responds to the current deficit in the number of radiologists trained in French-speaking Switzerland. The results are based on official FMH figures and on a survey to which more than 90% of the radiologists active in French-speaking Switzerland responded.
“The current number of radiologists in training will make it possible to train 10 radiologists per year over the next decade. Fifteen to 20 would have to be trained to make up the current shortfall and meet the increasing demand. If this is not the case, a continued call for foreign professionals or a profound change in medical practice will be inevitable.”
